IS Clinical Prodigy Peel Elite

The IS Clinical Prodigy Peel Elite is the most clinically active peel we offer at Aura Skin Boutique. It is designed for clients with stubborn pigmentation, acne scarring, sun damage, or textural concerns that have not responded to gentler treatments. This is not a lunchtime peel. You will peel visibly for five to seven days afterwards and emerge with skin that looks fresher, smoother, and more even.

We use iS Clinical products in clinic because the formulations are clinical-strength but well-tolerated, and the brand is one of the most respected in cosmeceutical skincare globally. The Prodigy Peel Elite combines several acids and a retinoid in one protocol: TCA, salicylic, glycolic, lactic, and retinol.

What this peel actually does

It works at three levels at once. The TCA (trichloroacetic acid) is the active that drives the visible peeling and the depth of resurfacing. Salicylic acid clears congestion and reaches into the pores. Glycolic and lactic provide brightening and hydration. Retinol stimulates cell turnover and continues working in the days that follow.

The combination means we can treat several concerns in one session that would otherwise need multiple different treatments.

Who this is for

  • Clients with established pigmentation, sun damage, or melasma that has not responded to home skincare.
  • Atrophic acne scarring (the small, soft indentations left after acne has settled).
  • Dull, congested, thickened skin that needs a deep reset.
  • Clients comfortable with five to seven days of social downtime.
  • Anyone who has used active skincare (retinol, AHAs) before and tolerates it well.

Who this is not for

  • First-time peel clients. We recommend starting with the Shinning Peel or Aura Glass Skin Peel and building up.
  • Pregnant or breastfeeding clients.
  • Clients currently on Roaccutane or who have used it in the last six months.
  • Anyone with active eczema, dermatitis, or recent sunburn on the treatment area.
  • Clients with a history of cold sores without antiviral prophylaxis. We will arrange this in advance if needed.

What to expect during the appointment

The full session runs around 60 minutes. After a thorough skin consultation and consent form, we cleanse and prep the skin, then apply the peel in controlled layers. You will feel a tingling, warming sensation during application. The sensation is monitored and managed throughout. After the peel is neutralised we apply a calming barrier cream and SPF.

What to expect afterwards

Days one and two, the skin feels tight and looks slightly red, like a mild sunburn. Days three to five, visible peeling. This is normal and expected. The instinct will be to pick. Do not pick. Days six and seven, peeling settles. The fresh skin underneath looks smoother, more even in tone, and noticeably brighter. Two to three weeks later, the deeper benefits (collagen response, pigmentation lightening) start to show.

Aftercare matters more than the peel itself

SPF every day, no exceptions. Sun exposure after this peel can cause rebound pigmentation and undo the result. No active skincare for seven to ten days, just a gentle cleanser, the calming cream we send you home with, and SPF. No saunas, hot yoga, or heavy sweating for a week. Do not pick.

We send you home with detailed written aftercare and you can call us any time during the recovery window.

How many sessions you might need

This depends on your concern. For surface pigmentation, one to two sessions spaced six weeks apart. For deeper scarring or stubborn melasma, three to four sessions in a course over six to nine months, combined with home skincare.

Frequently asked questions

Will I definitely peel visibly?

Yes, this peel is designed to produce visible peeling. Some clients peel more than others depending on skin thickness and how quickly cells turn over. Plan your social calendar around five to seven days of visible flaking.

How painful is it?

Tingling and warmth during the peel, which we manage with a cooling fan. Most clients rate the discomfort 3 to 4 out of 10. It is not no sensation, but it is tolerable and manageable.

When can I wear makeup again?

From day three onwards, as long as it is mineral-based and applied gently. We avoid heavy foundation during the peeling phase because it can lift the skin unevenly.

How is this different from microneedling?

Microneedling creates physical micro-channels that trigger collagen. Peels use chemistry to dissolve the bond between dead skin cells and trigger renewal from above. The Prodigy Peel Elite is better for pigmentation and surface texture. Microneedling is better for scarring depth and remodelling.

Can I have this on my chest or hands?

Yes, with a smaller adjusted protocol. Discuss this at consultation and we will quote separately.

What if I have a reaction?

Mild redness and tightness are part of normal recovery. Anything beyond that (intense burning, severe swelling, blistering) is rare but should be called in to us immediately on 0450 000 083 so we can review. We have post-peel protocols for any unexpected reactions and you can be seen the same day.

Can I combine this with other treatments?

Not in the same week. We typically space deeper peels at least six weeks apart from each other and away from microneedling. Lighter treatments like a hydrating mask can be added three to four weeks after.

Should I book a consultation first?

Yes, for first-time clients with us or anyone unsure if their skin is suitable. A 20-minute consultation is included free of charge if you book the peel afterwards.
