Green Peel herbal skin renewal treatment at Aura Skin Boutique, Essendon

What is a Herbal Green Peel?

A Herbal Green Peel is a botanical skin treatment that uses a specially formulated blend of herbs to exfoliate the skin and support its natural renewal process. The herbal blend is worked into the skin by hand, and the fine plant particles gently stimulate the surface. That stimulation helps lift away dead skin cells, improves overall skin texture and encourages fresh skin to come through over the following days.

It is the plant-based alternative for clients who want visible renewal without an acid-based peel. People searching for a herbal peel, a natural skin peel or a green peel in Melbourne are usually after exactly this: a treatment that works with the skin's own renewal rather than dissolving the surface with acids.

How the Green Peel works, step by step

Every session is run by one of our senior therapists in the same order. Allow about 75 minutes for the appointment.

Step one: consultation and skin check

We look at your skin under a lamp, talk through your concerns, allergies and medications, and choose the strength of treatment that suits you. A gentle Green Peel freshens the skin with little visible flaking. A stronger one works deeper and brings more peeling in the days afterwards.

Step two: cleanse and prepare

We double cleanse to remove sunscreen, makeup and surface oil, so the herbal blend can reach the skin evenly.

Step three: the herbal blend goes on

The botanical blend is massaged into the skin, area by area. This is the working part of the treatment. You feel warmth and tingling as the plant particles stimulate the surface and begin the exfoliation.

Step four: calm and protect

We remove the blend, settle the skin with a calming, hydrating finish and apply SPF. You leave with written aftercare and a plan for the next few days.

Benefits of our Herbal Green Peel

  • Brighter complexion: helps improve dullness and restore a fresh, radiant appearance.
  • Smoother skin texture: helps reduce roughness and uneven skin texture.
  • Improved appearance of pores: helps minimise the appearance of enlarged and congested pores.
  • Blemish-prone skin: supports exfoliation and helps improve the appearance of congestion.
  • Uneven skin tone: helps improve the appearance of superficial discolouration and post-blemish marks.
  • Fine lines: can help soften the appearance of fine lines through surface renewal.
  • Natural-looking glow: reveals fresher, smoother and more radiant-looking skin.

Who the Green Peel suits

Most people who book it have skin that looks dull, congested, uneven or tired, or texture that makeup sits badly on. It is also the peel we suggest when you would rather avoid acids, whether because your skin reacts to them or because you prefer a plant-based approach. If you are after the smooth, even, hydrated finish that Korean skincare calls glass skin, the Green Peel is a strong starting point, with a simple home routine to keep it going.

Deep acne scarring, severe melasma and heavy sun damage improve more slowly and usually need other treatments too, such as microneedling, salmon DNA microneedling or the iS Clinical Prodigy Peel Elite. We will be honest about that at your consultation.

Green Peel, chemical peel or HydraFacial?

They are not rivals, and many clients use more than one across the year. The short version is below, and your therapist can map out a plan with you.

Why choose our Herbal Green Peel?

At Aura Skin Boutique we believe beautiful skin begins with healthy skin. Our Green Peel offers a botanical approach to exfoliation without relying on a traditional acid-based chemical peel, and each treatment is tailored to your skin's condition, concerns and individual needs. Sara Haghighi, our founder, has ten years in skin, and the consultation is the part we take most seriously: if a different treatment will do more for your skin, we tell you.

What to expect after a Green Peel

Following treatment, your skin may feel warm, tight or slightly sensitive. Depending on the strength of the treatment, temporary redness, dryness or visible peeling may occur over the next few days. Results and recovery vary according to your skin type and treatment intensity.

  1. Day one: warmth, pinkness and a tight feeling that eases by the evening.
  2. Days two to five: the skin can feel dry, and with a stronger peel it may flake. Moisturise, and do not pick.
  3. Around a week: fresher, smoother, brighter-looking skin comes through, and the result keeps improving as renewal continues.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

We understand that skincare choices are especially important during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Although our Green Peel is herbal-based, natural ingredients are not automatically safe for everyone. Suitability depends on the exact formulation, your individual skin sensitivity and your medical circumstances.

Our team will review the ingredients and assess your suitability before recommending treatment, and we may advise obtaining approval from your healthcare professional first.

Who should wait

  • Active cold sores, infection, broken skin or sunburn on the area
  • Active, inflamed or cystic acne, which needs a different plan first
  • A strong peel, laser or microneedling in the past few weeks
  • Roaccutane now or within the last six months
  • Known allergies to plant ingredients, or very reactive skin, until we have patch tested

Preparing for your session

  • Pause retinols, strong acids and scrubs for about five days beforehand.
  • Avoid sunburn and fake tan on the area in the week before.
  • Tell us about allergies, medications and any skin conditions, even minor ones.
  • Come with clean skin, with no makeup or heavy moisturiser if you can.

Aftercare

  • Wear SPF 50 every day, and keep out of direct sun for the week afterwards.
  • Use a gentle cleanser and a fragrance-free moisturiser. Let any flaking come away on its own.
  • Skip retinols, acids and exfoliants for five to seven days.
  • Avoid saunas, hot showers, swimming pools and heavy exercise for 24 to 48 hours.
  • Pause makeup for the first day if you can, then go light while the skin settles.

Price and Afterpay

The Green Peel is $450, and the skin consultation is free. We take cash, card, EFTPOS, Apple Pay and Google Pay, and Afterpay is available in clinic if you would like to split the cost into four interest-free payments. See the price list for every treatment.

Green Peel FAQs

What is a Green Peel?

A Green Peel is a herbal skin renewal treatment. A blend of botanical ingredients is worked into the skin to exfoliate the surface and encourage your skin's own renewal, so the complexion looks fresher, smoother and brighter. It is a plant-based alternative to an acid-based chemical peel.

Is a Green Peel a chemical peel?

No. A chemical peel uses acids such as lactic, mandelic, glycolic or TCA to loosen dead skin cells. The Green Peel uses herbs and plant material instead. Both exfoliate and renew the surface, but they get there by different routes, and the Green Peel suits people who want to avoid acids.

Does a Green Peel hurt?

Most clients describe warmth, tingling and a feeling of tightness while the herbal blend is worked in and for a few hours afterwards. It is a working treatment rather than a relaxing facial, but it is not usually described as painful. Tell your therapist straight away if it feels too much.

Will my skin visibly peel?

It depends on the strength your therapist chooses. A gentler Green Peel may give only a little dryness, while a stronger one can bring temporary redness, dryness and visible flaking for a few days. Your therapist explains what to expect before you start, and the peeling, when it happens, is part of the renewal.

How much does a Green Peel cost in Melbourne?

At Aura Skin Boutique in Essendon North the Green Peel is $450, with a free skin consultation included. Afterpay is available in clinic, so the cost can be split into four interest-free payments. The full price list is online.

How long does a Green Peel take?

Allow about 75 minutes for the appointment, which covers your consultation, the treatment itself and your aftercare instructions.

How many Green Peel sessions will I need?

One session gives a visible freshening. For blemish-prone skin, uneven tone or rough texture, a short course of two or three sessions spaced a few weeks apart usually does more. Your therapist sets the plan at your consultation, and we would rather suggest fewer sessions than you expect than more.

Can I have a Green Peel while pregnant or breastfeeding?

Although the Green Peel is herbal-based, natural ingredients are not automatically safe for everyone. Suitability during pregnancy and breastfeeding depends on the exact formulation, your skin sensitivity and your medical circumstances. We review the ingredients and assess you first, and we may ask you to get approval from your healthcare professional.

Is the Green Peel suitable for sensitive skin?

Often, yes, at a gentle strength. Because there are no acids, many people with reactive skin tolerate it well, but plant ingredients can still cause reactions in some people. Tell us about rosacea, eczema, allergies or past reactions, and we will patch test or choose a gentler option if needed.

Is the Green Peel good for acne and congestion?

It supports exfoliation and helps improve the appearance of congestion, blocked pores and post-blemish marks, so blemish-prone skin is one of the main reasons people book it. Active, inflamed or cystic acne needs a different plan first, and your therapist will say so at your consultation.

Green Peel or HydraFacial: which should I choose?

A HydraFacial cleanses, extracts and hydrates in one visit with no downtime, so it is the one for a quick glow or congested pores. The Green Peel is a deeper herbal renewal that works on texture, tone and dullness over the following days, with some possible dryness or peeling. Many clients alternate the two across the year.

Is the Green Peel safe for darker skin tones?

Herbal exfoliation is generally considered suitable across skin tones, and because it does not rely on acids the risk of irritation is lower for many people. Any peel can affect pigment if the skin is pushed too hard, so we choose the strength carefully, patch test where needed and insist on daily SPF afterwards.

What should I avoid after a Green Peel?

For the first few days: picking or scrubbing flaking skin, retinols and strong exfoliants, saunas, hot showers, swimming pools and heavy sweating. Keep the skin moisturised with a gentle, fragrance-free product and wear SPF 50 every day. Your therapist gives you the exact timings for your strength of peel.

Do I need a consultation first?

Yes, and it is free. You can walk in for one Monday to Saturday. It lets us check your skin, review the ingredients against any allergies or medical conditions, choose the right strength and plan the timing around your diary.
